Blue Water Winter

searching for raw beauty
on a late winter beach
swirls of sand and snow
changing
with each new wind

elements combine
ice and water
snow and sand
shrubs and grasses
waiting for spring

a little more time
a few more storms
will pound
this long pier of ice
this cold exclamation mark

at the end
of a long
blue water winter

  1. Dick- The snow & drifting, along with the exposed sand is a very nice contrast, along with the deep blue lake, dormant follage, interesting sky mix and lone lighthouse in the background. The shot of the frozen light house really gives the feel of winter. Thanks for sharing. Your were at the right place at the right time. -Rick Sarver 3/3/13

If you ever get to West Michigan, be sure to visit Ludington State Park also; any season.
If you come through Grand Rapids, (call me Rich) give us a call.

I appreciate your comments, from another photographer's point of view.

  3. White milk and chocolate swirl! It has a resemblance to the Holland State Park. Beautiful!

Thank you, my friend. Grab a straw, a spoon, and dig in. Or have your camera ready.

We'd like to visit you in Holland this spring.

My Canon is loaded and ready to shoot. Let's exchange phone numbers by email, not here at WWFN.

Spring is knocking at the door.
