Into the Silence

Confortably content

in this remote wilderness,

we climb the shoulder

of this massive mountain.

Feel its dependable permanence.

We've escaped the noise

of the world left behind

and follow this hiking trail

into the silence.

Rewards

for John D'amico
You are:

a climber of mountains,
a hiker of deserts,

an explorer of wilderness,
a seeker of solitude.

Bluffs and buttes,
crags and crests,
ridges and ravines,
creeks and canyons
become your dwelling place.

You tread
so quietly the earth,
that God rewards you
with the extraordinary gifts
of His creation.

"scapes"

"... a view is something our minds make of a place, it is a physical frame around natural fact, a two-way transmission during which the land shapes our eyes and our eyes cut the land into scapes."
