Amethyst

 

Purple blossoms of vetch

dangle like living jewels;

like amethyst

on a green necklace.

These delicate gems

adorn summer fields,

use their tender tendrils

to climb and cling to grasses,

seeking better exposure

to the mid-summer sun.
