Holy Waters

 

This is a hallowed land.

A sacred place,

consecrated by

the holy waters

of this mountain stream.

Where words rush by

in mystical motion.

Incomprehensible.

Inscrutable,

yet profound.

Holy Water

April rain showers
bring a shine to these
winter-weary woods.

Moles resume their
muzzling push through
moist and softened soil. 

Mayapple stalks
probe, pierce, and lift
layers of leaf litter.

These spring showers,
like holy water,
bless the earth awake.

Giving Clouds

This morning,
spring wildflowers,

with their short, vivid lives,
resemble time passing by.

This afternoon,
I witness the benediction
of rain upon the land.
Holy water sprinkled
from giving clouds.
