Translator II

 

When I approach

a wild mountain stream;

say the Payette River in Idaho,

or the Arkansas River in Colorado,

or the Snake River in Wyoming,

I do so with humble respect.

I sit on the bank,

a boulder, or a nearby log,

then listen with new ears

and an open mind.

And wait patiently

for a translator

to interpret the music.
