This lavender light of dawn
seems to be filling with angels
who are willing to carry my prayers.
Now, as the morning sun
penetrates the fog,
and warms my face,
I am blessed with
this precious moment
to offer praise and thanksgiving;
willing to wait for God's answer
in this place where I belong.

Wonderful imagery, Dad! This reminds me so much of a poem I wrote while sitting atop Haleakala Crater on the island of Maui years ago. Clouds had filled in the crater, and as the sun rose they started dissipating. I, too, felt the presence of angels in that breathtaking place.
ReplyDeleteSarah: Thanks for your detailed response. The combination of fog and the oncoming dawn light was a magical moment for the photographer, and later during contemplation, inspiration for the poet.
DeleteI am pleased that we both have the creative spirit within us. I want to read more of YOUR poetry, when the time is right.
Love, Dad
