Cloud Music

While you read "Cloud Music", play this segment from Beethoven's 6th Symphony:

Pastoral Symphony

What kind of music
is streaming from above;
pouring through holes
in the stratus various
blanket?

Does it contain
tenderness and yearning,
filling with desire,
or late evening melancholy,
flooding with memories?

Alive
in the moment,
listening to the performance,
grateful for God's gifts
at the close of this day.

On invisible instruments
the music has played.
Absorbed within, during
this fragment of time,
this fleeting moment.

While clouds thicken
and the horizon darkens,
the cold winds of November
carry the music
away.
