Showers of Light

light showers
over distant mountains
create curtains
of lavender and gold
evening rainbow
enters canyon
accents
showers of
light

  1. First of all, this is an incredible photo.

Second, I love the way you start your poem: "Light showers." You may have meant light as in small and easy, or you may have meant light as in color. In any case, it was just the stepping stone into those final beautiful images. Thank you, Richard.

Thank you for your beautiful, thoughtful, and detailed reply.

I intended both meanings; light, as in soft, and color. Good interpretation by you, a great writer.

    I particularly like the ending...
    "showers of light."

    Gratefully,

    Richard

  3. Richard:

In your photo I can see the rainbow coming from the eye of God, down to the earth.

    Does anyone else see this?

Actually, you're right. I can imagine two eyes; the darker narrow clouds. The left eye, from our view, (God's right eye), contains the source of the rainbow, then it arcs beautifully to the earth.

    Good eye!
